Bio: Overcoming adversity as a result of a severe car accident, the owner and guiding light of Exercise Chilliwack, Katrina Bennett decided to help others as she helped herself through physical training and motivation. As young child, Katrina was always interested physical activity and business. She performed in several ballet productions and taught piano lessons to mentally challenged foster children from the age of five. She began training in the gym at thirteen and started her own business called Sunshine Window Washing at eighteen. While studying at the University of the Fraser Valley, Katrina was the victim of a severe car accident. She sustained many injuries including a broken back and concussion. Katrina was rushed to the Vancouver General Hospital where Dr Marcel Dvorak, surgeon for former BC Premier Mike Harcourt, conducted the first of two surgeries. Katrina underwent an extensive rehabilitation training program and a second back surgery the following year. After a remarkable recovery Katrina began training as a natural body builder. In the fall of 1997, Katrina completed her Human Kinetics degree and her Professional Fitness and Lifestyles Certification at UBC. She performed Hip Hop dance in many events in the community such as Vancouver Sun Run and the Health & Wellness Show at Canada Place. Katrina taught Hip Hop for the YMCA, Fitness World, church groups and summer camps. She also worked as a Kinesiologist and personal trainer for the Canadian Back Institute, Citadel Health Management, Hotel Vancouver and Le Physique. In the fall of 2002, Katrina opened Katch Life Health & Wellness. Her dream was to help others overcome physical injury and achieve their best health. Get Fit + Be Happy = Katch Life through her Exercise Therapy, Health Coaching, Wellness Workshops and complimentary newsletters. Since Katch Life Health & Wellness began Katrina has been: nominated for "Entrepreneur of the Year 2003"; featured on the cover of the Balanced Life Magazine; in the Georgia Strait and The Vancouver Province newspapers and a guest on the popular radio station CFUN 1410am. In 2004 Katrina moved to Penticton where she started her family and recruited over 75 new clients within her first year. Katrina continued training out of the Skaha Chiropractic office for 3 years and then moved to Abbotsford to complete her family. She is now the proud mother of three healthy, energetic boys. In the fall of 2014 Katrina decided to move to Chilliwack. She was immediately hired by CBI Health here in Garrison but turned it down to work out of the ChiroMEDIX Chiropractic office. Over the last 5 months Katrina really enjoyed working with Dr. Devenney and her excellent clients but due to family pressures has decided to move her business closer to home in the Sardis area. Her goal is to manage her family responsibilities as well as be a working mother while her children attend school. Katrina continues to help people reach their fitness and nutrition goals having an impact on thousands of people.
